The latest vintage 'Roller" for sale at Britain's top Rolls Royce specialists in Great Easton has an unusual body and more prominent wings than its showroom compatriots - because it's a Spitfire aircraft.

The 'Spit' built late in the Second World War but still boasting the immaculate Rolls-Royce Merlin engine is one of the maintenance specialities of P and A Wood.

The plane, one of only 42 of the wartime fighters still flying internationally was dismantled and rebuilt in the showroom next to conventional Rolls cars.

The fly-away price is £700,000.

Paul and Andrew Wood started up in 1968 rebuilding the first 1907 Silver Ghost AX201 car and are currently selling a 1906 30-horsepower six cylinder Rolls for £600,000.

Lee Maxtead Page of Wood's, pictured above, says he hopes that having the plane and cars together will attract a buyer interested in vehicles and historic aircraft..
