Staff at Witham railway station are celebrating after being voted best large station. A panel of judges from the First Great Eastern awards commended the station for cleanliness, information and the helpfulness of staff, voting Witham joint winner with Colchester.
Station worker, Bob Wilkshire put their winning success down to good team work.
"As a team we pull together and get on really well," he said. "I think we try to help out as much as we can and passengers who travel with us a lot respond to that."
Some of the staff are so keen that they bring in plants from home to brighten up the station's flowerpots.
