A £76,000 renovation of a Leigh church has reached its midway point.
Work on the second phase of the project to give St Clements Church a facelift is expected to be complete in a fortnight.
Builders have been replacing the stones on the church's turret and around the windows. Weathering causes the stones to become loose over time and refixing needs to be done for safety reasons, explained the Rev Stephen Jones.
He said: "Then we will start on the third phase, which at £30,000 is the most expensive but least dramatic. This involves renovating the valley guttering between the roof aisles to improve the drainage."
