The son of a video shop owner has been quizzed by police after alleged pornographic films and fake computer games were discovered in his car.

Detectives and trading standards officials raided Hadleigh Videos in London Road but found nothing inside the store.

But when officers searched the car of the owner's son, parked outside, they seized a number of items.

Darren Alan, 30, from Station Road, Leigh - who helps out in the store - told This Is Essex his actions had nothing to do with his father's store.

He said: "All the stuff was found in my car, well away from the shop. The police came into the shop to search it but there was nothing in there.

"They asked if I had a vehicle and I told them it was parked outside. This has nothing at all to do with my father's business."

Mr Alan was questioned and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
