Youngsters at Hadleigh County Juniors saw the age of the Romans come to life thanks to a visit by a travelling theatre group.
The group, called Legion 14, used drama and their costumes to help give pupils a greater insight into life at the time. Some children even got the chance to take on roles themselves, including Megan Thorpe, eight, and Joshua Puckett, seven, pictured.
The visit was part of a term-long study of the Romans being carried out by children at the school in Church Road, which has also seen them visiting Colchester museum.
