Porky Paul Catley has left table-topping Braintree on a month's loan to Chelmsford City.

Catley, affectionately nicknamed Porky by fans and team mates, is unhappy at being displaced by former Colcheter United keeper John Cheesewright and could seek a permanent move to the Dr Marten Southern Division side.

His poor disciplinary record cost him his place after being banned for five games following a sending off.

Cheesewright made a good impression since joining from Leyton Pennant and will have Tony Cherry as his number two if Catley decides to leave completely.

Catley will be the third senior player to leave with a fortnight with striker Ian Gedney and play-maker Bobby Mayes choosing to return to Jewson League football.

But fomer Ipswich Town star Simon Milton insists there is no disharmony in the camp.

He said: "I'm enjoying it and I think everyone else is. We are top of the table and the Braintree train is rumbling on.

"We had a good win at Chertsey and have played especially well recently."

Wivenhoe will have Darryl Trigg in the side when they visit Marlow. The young keeper is on trial at Brighton for another week and is expected to play in their reserves next week.

Witham go to Wokingham, while Heybridge are at home Walton and Hersham. Halstead will be aiming to end their away-day blues at mid-table Warboys.

Boss Steve Parnell is looking for a dramatic improvement from his side after a succession of disastrous results on their travels in the Jewson Premier.

He said: "We have not won away in the league since we beat Sudbury Town, which was ages ago.

"Our home form has been really good this year. We have beaten some really good sides.

"But our away form has been disastrous. We need to try and turn that around. You can get into a rut you can't get out of."

Parnell plans to rotate his squad for the Warboys trip, with a few less experienced players stepping up.

Reserve strikers Mark Burlong, who has already appeared as a sub, and Brett McQuiston will also get their chance in the coming months.

Football is not the only thing Harwich will have to worry about at Bury on Saturday.

They will be keeping one eye on the sky during the Jewson League clash as the floodlights at Ram Meadow are currently out of order.

As a result the kick off time has been brought forward to 2.30pm, but even then a gloomy day could spell trouble.

On the selection front Harwich are without Dan Daly who has begun a six-week suspension, while striker Mark Farmer is doubtful with flu. But Gareth Heath returns to the squad as does Meyrick Cook.

Joint manager Jimmy Minter is gunning for revenge against the fifth-placed Suffolk outfit after losing the reverse fixture in controversial fashion.

It's back to the bread and butter for Clacton Town when they return to the Jewson League promotion race with Chatteris after their cup exploits.

They have a fully fit squad to choose from as they look to extend their Division One lead.

Tiptree are at full strength as they entertain Thetford. Manager Keith Newman almost had to pay out a top three bonus but the game at Haverhill was called off.

He said: "The money is in place and I will be more than happy to pay it when we get there. A win at home against Thetford should take us up at least a place but it won't be easy."

Stanway are hoping to sign a new player in time for the visit of March Town. Rovers have been silently creeping up the table and manager Phil Bloss is happy with their progress.

He said: "We have been doing well without making too much of a fuss."

Brightlingsea entertain struggling Haverhill in the Jewson League. The Oystermen need a win after dropping into the bottom six.

After missing five regulars at Cornard, Brightlingsea will be able to strengthen their side.

Chelmsford are at Margate in the Dr Marten Southern Division.
