A teenage girl was viciously attacked on her way to school yesterday.
The 14-year-old was walking along Greenstead Road in Colchester when a skinhead set on her and tore her bag from her arm. Another man pushed her to the floor, leaving her with cuts, bruises and badly shaken.
Police described the attack as "awful" and the girl as being "extremely distressed".
She has been making a statement to police about her ordeal and officers have appealed for public help in finding the muggers.
The first is described as being about 18 or 19 years old, with a skinhead haircut, about 5ft 8ins tall, slim, with black hair and bushy eyebrows.
He was wearing a navy quilted jacket with the word "Kickers" on the back in large white letters.
The second had longer hair, was about the same age, about 6ft and was wearing a dark navy jacket.
