Chelmer Cycling Club's Bill Broadfield clocked 57 minutes, 24 seconds and was best veteran on age standard, in the Mildenhall "25" last Sunday.

Mike Hutchinson (Cambridge University) added to his successes this season with the fastest time of 52 minutes 12 seconds.

Meanwhile Dave Nock was placed fourth, and best veteran behind Glen Taylor (Team Clean), Paul Smith, (API Resprays) and Neil Douglas, who was making a rare visit from Stowmarket.

Nock's time was 58.55 and Garry Barton's was 1.2.45.

The first "10" of the Chelmer's 1999 series was held on the Rodings course and ended in a downpour, after a day of storms on Thursday.

The result was: (1st) D. Nock 23.27; (2nd) R. Wall, 24.22; (3rd) G. Barton 24.45; (4th) G. Painter 25.59; (5th) B. Gowdy 26.02 and (6th) C. Regan 26.49.
