Ipswich are prepared to revert to the long ball in their bid for Premiership football.

Town have won plaudits all season for their attractive passing game but those tactics have managed only four points from the last 15 and only two goals.

Blues boss George Burley recognises their opponents have developed strategies to thwart Town's impressive passing game.

He said: "Teams are stifling our midfield so we must adapt to overcome that. David Johnson has pace and thrives on a long ball so sometimes we have to mix it up. But that decision has to come on the pitch at the time."

Town midfielder Matt Holland insists confidence is still high among the players.

He said: " We still believe we are good enough to go up. We had 4,000 fans at Birmingham which was fantastic and it will be a full house getting behind us on Sunday which is terrific.

"A win this week will see us go up so we have to make sure we get the right result. We need Wolves to do us a favour and us to beat Sheffield United so we are confident we can still go up.

"We have not played particularly badly in the run in but we have not scored enough goals and that is not just down to the strikers. We all have to chip in.

"David Johnson has great pace and can finish and I'm sure he will be scoring again soon."

Ipswich and Bradford's vital Division One games, on Sunday, will both be shown live on Sky TV simultaneously. Both games, at Portman Road and Molineux are complete sell-outs.

Ipswich Town's substitutes last Sunday, Richard Naylor, Jason Cundy and Bobby Petta, are among the Ipswich reserves squad that travels to Oxford United's Manor Ground tonight for the Avon Insurance Combination League fixture.
