A motorcyclist died yesterday after a road accident in Colchester.
The accident happened at around 7.30am on St Andrew's Avenue near its junction with Harwich Road.
The motorcycle and an articulated lorry were both going towards Colchester when the accident happened.
St Andrew's Avenue was sealed off by police during the rush hour for several hours.
But diversions were set up via Greenstead Road and the traffic backlog was kept to a minimum.
The motorcyclist, who has not yet been named, was certified dead at Colchester General Hospital.
