At home, Gerry Swindell came up against visitor Alf Woodley's rink and won two of the last three ends after a close match for a 20-16 triumph.

Away to Don Murray, Keith Wood led from the start and pulled off a 29-18 triumph.

In Group Six Division One, Belfairs had a close 40-39 success at Hockley to take the points 4-2.

T Myall beat F Benee 17-15, but H Cohen lost 24-23 to A Wallis.

Belfairs lost 42-33 at Bournemouth Park to lose the points 5-1. Although K Wood drew 19-all with R Spencer, H Cohen went down 21-14 to R Shillito.

In Division Three, Belfairs took the points 4-2 after beating Hadleigh 35-30 at home.

F Hemming beat J Seekings 21-15, but G Chudleigh went down 15-14 to B Taylor.

In the Basildon League Basildon C beat WR Gloucester Park by 43 shots for a 7-0 points triumph.

Against Wickford BB, Basildon B won by 13 shots to take the points 7-0.

Torrential rain stopped play for 30 minutes when Basildon played at Harlow, but the elements eventually relented long enough for Basildon to win by two shots.
