Lifeboat crews from Burnham helped rescue five people from the River Crouch.

A 16-foot speedboat had been towing an inflatable on Saturday when the craft capsized.

Two men, a woman and two children, who were all wearing lifejackets, were rescued by other river users.

The lifeboat ferried them to South Fambridge where a waiting ambulance took them to hospital for treatment for shock and the effects of cold.
