Individual drugs seizures in Chelmsford police division have totalled 165 in the last year.
And the division's police chief, Superintendent Brian Storey, has said that there were 307 arrests involving drug-related crime during the same period.
Police are targeting drug and alcohol misuse, and Supt Storey said: "In addition to the arrest figures, the excellent work of the night club liaison officer, combined with the assistance of registered door staff, has led to 165 individual drugs seizures and an assortment of criminal intelligence being obtained."
There are now 254 registered door staff monitoring licensed premises, and Chelmsford police have been operating a trial Supported Caution Scheme, which sees individuals cautioned rather than prosecuted.
Supt Storey said: "A total of 106 offenders received these cautions, and it appears that only one of these has been rearrested in the Essex Police area."
In an end-of-year report on his division, he said: "Overall, the results for the division are satisfying, in particular our work towards reducing and detecting dwelling burglaries and reductions in offences of other burglaries and auto crime offences."
