A fleet of flying gorillas are heading towards the Thameside Theatre!

However, budding David Attenborough's have no need to look to the skies - the Flying Gorillas are a dance company who will be making a special appearance at the theatre in Orsett Road, Grays.

They will be running workshops and performing a show for youngsters from the Tree Tops School, Grays, on July 6.

The event has been arranged by Thurrock Council's arts development officer, Juliet Martin, and is intended to provide the children wih the chance to experience the world of dance and music first hand.

She said: "It is a pleasure to welcome the Flying Gorillas into Thurrock. I am sure that their performance will be very much enjoyed by by the children of Tree Tops School.

"The show explores friendship, tolerance, argument and understanding, in fact many of the issues that we face in everyday life. By using music and dance, the group is helping to create an imaginative and attention-grabbing way of tackling such issues."
