Peter West claimed a unique double in the Colchester 10km road race titleon Sunday.
The Colchester Harriers ace recorded a time of 34 minutes 22 seconds to come in ahead of Colin Pitts (34.37) and Tom Payn (35.41) in the men's event.
And it was his win which helped Harriers to first place in the team event, alongside team mates Ashleigh Ranson and Mick French.
In the ladies event, Rachel Wadds (48.03) took the honours ahead of Wendy Kelly (48.58) and Mette Thompsen (49.15).
In the men's veterans section, Harriers again took first prize.
Michael French (37.53) won the 40-49 age group, Paul Bryan (38.06) the 50-59 group, but Colchester Rovers' Neil Pears (51.28) denied a clean sweep by winning the 60+ section.
In the ladies veterans' race, Maria Jones (52.54) won the 35-44 age group and Barbara Law (53.45) won the 45+ event.
The Haddocks sponsored race, which started at Sportsway, near Leisureworld, was organised by Colchester Harriers Athletics Club and held in conjunction with This Is Essex partner the Evening Gazette.
