Saturday's journey was Witham's first ever visit to Rowley Park and they found the pitch in perfect condition.

Witham took the lead after seven minutes when captain Justin Pearce forced the ball over the line following their first corner.

Witham were in command throughout the first half and should have increased their lead as both Glen Poole and Liam Nash squandered good chances.

Little was seen of the home attack with not a shot on target, two, from Derwayne Stupple and Paul Carey going wide of Witham goalkeeper Tony Williams' goal.

After the break Witham scored three quick goals via Poole and Nash, and Dean Braybrook completed the scoring when he slid the ball in following a free kick.

There followed end to end football and late in the game St Neots staged a mini grandstand finish forcing a series of corners in injury time and Williams made two fingertip saves.

Witham now travel to Cheshunt in the next round and remembering that Cheshunt beat Witham 7-2 in the opening league game of the season at Spa Road, Town know that they will have a battle on their hands if they are to make further progress in the competition.

Town Under 18's won their first game in the FA Youth Cup, 3-0 against Leighton Town, 3-0 at Spa Road.

Gino Defeo scored the first goal halfway through the first half and he added a second goal just after half time.

John Elms completed the scoring when heading in a free kick, but Witham did not have it all their own way and their goalkeeper Michael Gillespie was called upon to make two good saves late in the game.

On Saturday Witham first team start the F.A. Vase trail when they visit Hullbridge Sports.
