A driver and his passenger had a lucky escape when their car became sandwiched between two lorries on the Eastwood stretch of the A127.
One lorry shunted into the back of the red Proton, pushing it the back of the other one, completely crushing the bodywork.
Jams built up as traffic police tried to clear the wreckage from the road following the accident by the junction of the A127 and Progress Road around 10am on Friday.
None of the drivers of the vehicles needed to be taken to hospital and the police said the car had stood up well, considering the weight of the lorries.
