A woman plagued by a catalogue of disasters has now lost her passport - days before she was due to go on holiday.

Sue Robertson, 32, of Burdett Avenue, Westcliff, may not be able to take her children away on a holiday of a lifetime.

It is just the latest in a long line of disasters.

In January her home was broken into and burglars made off with CDs and jewellery worth around £700 as well as computer games her seven-year-old son had been given for Christmas.

Then a couple of months ago the single mum-of-two was involved in car accident. She was uninjured but the car was written off.

Miss Robertson said: "It has just been one thing on top of another. My partner has just left us and I was really looking forward to this holiday and getting away from it all."

She had been saving up for almost a year to take her young children, Connor, seven, and Holly, four, on the luxury holiday to the Greek island of Kos.

But Miss Robertson is now terrified she might lose the £1,000 two-week break as she has no passport. She last saw her passport in her handbag when she set out to the shops in Hainault Avenue, Westcliff, on Monday morning.

But when she returned home and emptied her bag it was not there. Miss Robertson has contacted the passport office, but she is worried she will not get a passports for herself and her children in time for their flight next week.

She said: "I don't know what to tell my kids, they were really looking forward to going to Greece. They have never been abroad before."

If anyone finds the passport they should contact Westcliff police station on 01702 431512.

Holiday worries - Connor, seven, and Holly, four, may miss out on a dream holiday to the Greek island of Kos, after their mum lost her passport following a catalogue of disasters
