Chris Wilson, a year ten pupil at The Deanes School, Thundersley, has been chosen to join Wimbledon Football Club's soccer academy.
He will be training at the Premiership club two evenings a week and at weekends will take part in tournaments against other top team's academies.
The aim of the academy is to improve coaching and development of talented young footballers to enable them to achieve their true potential.
Neil Moir, director of sports at The Deanes Sports College, said: "I am delighted that Chris' talent has been recognised and will be nutured by the Wimbledon club in the future."
Chris has been identified as part of The Deanes prestigious GATE (gifted and talented education) group.
As well as organising enrichment activities for the most able, the group designs and monitors individual education plans for pupils who train and participate at county or national level at sports.
This allows them to pursue their talents without neglecting other areas of their school life.
