Police are hunting a gunman who fired an airgun pellet through the front window of a Colchester house.
The woman at the house in Magnolia Drive, Greenstead, was uninjured in the attack.
She was upstairs on Saturday afternoon when she heard a bang and came down to find a hole in the lounge window.
Det Sgt Roger Napier, of Colchester police, said: "Anyone who knows who may have caused the damage or saw anyone firing an air rifle should contact us."
