Thousands of Ford workers in south Essex could strike in the new year following a collapse in talks.
Union representatives today said industrial action was likely after workers overwhelmingly rejected an offer on working conditions by Ford bosses.
Up to 3,000 workers at sites including Dunton, Trafford House in Basildon and Aveley will be balloted in January.
