A number of jobs are to go at a Colchester insurance company as part of a strategic review.
Crowe Syndicate Management (CSM), part of the Crowe Insurance Group, in Bergholt Road, Colchester, has announced the review as a move to "increase competitiveness and reduce expenses".
As a result a number of redundancies, thought to be about 30, will be made at the Colchester office, the former Philips building opposite North Station.
Crowe PR manager Ian Barrett confirmed that the jobs were to go but could not reveal exact numbers.
"We very much regret that this process has resulted in redundancies within management, part of the Colchester private car underwriting department and certain support areas," he said.
He added that reviewing retail operations was something which the group was constantly involved in.
"This is an ongoing process which aims to increase competitiveness by concentrating on core areas of business and reducing expenses," he said.
"Consequently a number of areas, particularly certain overseas ventures, will be rationalised."
