Former Colchester United midfielder Brian Launders has finally lodged an appeal against a Football League tribunal decision to reject his claim for unfair dismissal by the club.
The Irish Under-21 international, who made just eight first-team appearances for the U's after signing for then manager Mick Wadsworth last summer, was sacked in October for "serious misconduct."
In January, a tribunal threw out his claim for £169,000 damages, but he had seven days from the notification of the decision to appeal, and on Tuesday the U's were told he had done so.
The second hearing will be heard by the League's appeals panel on a date to be announced.
