A rising star in the world of women's hockey has been rewarded for her talents.
Nicola Kudela, of the Harwich School, was presented with a new stick from the Slazenger company for her winning performance at the recent England development squad matches.
Coach Julie Cook believes 12-year-old Nicola has a real talent for the future.
"Nicola has the potential to go a long long way," said Julie, who kept goal for Great Britain in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. "Nicola has a lot of skill."
Nicola plays for the East of England development team and is hoping to keep playing hockey for as long as possible.
She accepts she owes Julie a debt of gratitude: "My teacher started me off, then I started playing for Suffolk. I want to thank her for helping me."
