Youngsters at a Hadleigh school were praised by their local MP.
Castle Point's Christine Butler spent hours looking around Westwood Primary School in Beresford Close.
She sat in at a school council session and said she was impressed by how responsible the pupils were.
She said: "Primary schools do not normally have these councils so it was something I was looking forward to seeing.
"The pupils were discussing future initiatives and plans for the school.
"I was absolutely delighted to hear them talking in such a responsible way about things they were doing in the school."
Mrs Butler also spent time talking with staff at the Beresford (corr) Close school about the national curriculum and other educational matters.
