Skaters from the South Woodham Ferrers and Wickford Rollerspeed Skating Club continued to perform well in the National Indoor Inline Series, the third leg of which was held at Rollerbury in Bury St Edmunds recently.

Sam Morrison continued his winning ways in the boys six to nine group with two wins on the day and has maximum points with six wins out of six races in the series in this group.

Second was Chris Mizen (two seconds) and third was Billy Moore (fifth and third). Fourth was Robert Whiting (fourth and fourth), with Jake Watkins fifth (third and fifth) and Joshua Morrison sixth (sixth and sixth).

The girls 10 to 12 group was again a close affair in both races, with Chanelle Moore losing out to her North London rival in each race, to come second on the day.

In the boys 10 to 12 group, Gary Moore finished highest of six South Woodham skaters in a field of 11, coming second overall with two second places.

Sam Gosling finished fourth (sixth and third), Jonathan Wallis fifth (fifth and fourth), Richard Webb sixth (fourth and sixth), Michael Mizen eighth (seventh and eighth) and Mark Burton ninth (seventh and 10th).

Mark Smith competed in the boys 13-15 group and had mixed fortunes on the day, coming seventh in his first race and fourth in the second race, to finish fifth overall.

In the senior ladies group, Helen Warlow had two third places in both her races, finishing third on the day.
