A body is to be exhumed in Jersey as part of continuing investigations into allegations of mistreatment at a care home in Clacton.
Three members of staff at the former Carnarvon Lodge Residential Care Home, Carnarvon Road, were still being quizzed by police today (Friday). So far no-one has been charged.
Police today confirmed that officers would be going to Jersey on Tuesday.
They will ask the deputy viscount of the island for permission to exhume a man's body in connection with the investigation at the home. They confirmed the body was that of a former resident of the home.
The three staff - a man of 40 and two women aged 35 and 20 - were arrested yesterday at three addresses in the town.
Carnarvon Lodge Residential Care Home had its registration cancelled last October following a joint investigation by Essex Police and social services.
A report following a social services inspection at the home - which would normally be published - is not available as it forms part of the overall inquiry.
