Libby Hill celebrated her 60th birthday on Thursday, but that milestone will not stop her turning up for hockey matches -- a sport that she has been playing for 49 years.
Libby, from Great Waltham, collected her pension book on Thursday, but in a week's time, she will be turning out again for Braintree Hockey Club's second team.
Also a keen tennis player, Libby explained: "I just love keeping fit. I have been playing hockey since I was 11 years old, and have been a member of Braintree HC for 26 years, after having played for various other clubs."
Libby, who is single and works for an insurance company in Colchester, added: "Until my body tells me to pack it in, I will continue to play hockey and I am proud of the fact that I can still keep up with the youngsters in matches."
