Steve Mowle, paramedic with Rayleigh ambulance station and Essex Air Ambulance, was at full stretch for a six part Meridian TV documentary on the air ambulance service.
Steve, 36, said: "They are filming individual cameos of the paramedics who work for the air ambulance to show how they relax and get rid of stresses and strains."
Steve, whose wife Debbie is expecting their third child, added that a £500 donation from the leisure centre was a welcome contribution to the £50,000 a month needed to keep the Essex helicopter service airborne.
