Colchester United are looking at a season's first on Saturday - a complete sell-out.

This morning there were only 1,500 standing terrace tickets left for the clash with Burnley and even these are being snapped up.

Commercial manager Brian Wheeler has urged U's fans to purchase tickets from Layer Road or to call the ticket office on 508800 or 508826 for credit card sales.

He also reminded fans that no tickets would be on sale at the ground on the day of the match which will see former Arsenal and England star Ian Wright up against the U's.

Meanwhile, midfielder David Gregory has said he will be fit for Saturday's clash despite picking up an injury in the victory over Stoke.

He received a kick, late on in the game to his calf but rest and a break from training for a few days has seemed to have done the trick.

Manager Steve Whitton said: "I spoke to David last night and he says he will be fit. The heavy pitch left quite a few of the players sore after the game but everyone is looking forward to the challenge Burnley will pose."

The general fitness of the Layer Road squad has improved dramatically since Whitton took over in the hot-seat in September and the late winners over Bristol Rovers, Wycombe and Stoke are testimony to the hard work the players have been putting in on the training ground.

"It was obvious we had to step up our fitness levels, and the work we have put in is starting to bear fruit," said the U's boss.
