Aspiring models could see their dreams come true when a top agency sends its scouts to Colchester.

Select model agency will be scouring the dance floor of the Hippodrome Experience nightclub next week to seek out future supermodels.

The agency, which has some of the world's top models on its books including Helena Christensen and sought-after newcomer Lisa Ratliffe, will be on the look-out on March 10 and 11.

Gavin Myall, creative director at Select, said: "We never go anywhere with a particular look in mind, it depends who stands out. A typical Select model is one who is quite unique with a good canvas to work on.

"One of the reasons we are coming is we have a lot of people from Essex. When they go out clubbing, or out for a meal, they really do make an effort and have been at the forefront of fashion."

Select thinks exciting fashion and music is currently coming out of Essex, a scene linked to fascinating people. On these nights the scouts will be searching for two new faces, a male and female, choosing a winner on each evening.

One overall winner will then be chosen from Colchester and similar sessions at two other Essex venues, who will be offered the chance of a contract with Select.

Toby Middleton, promotion and general manager at the High Street club, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside Select."

He said the club had a reputation as one of the biggest and best clubs in Essex - with the most stylish people.

Chelmsford model Atesh is currently on Select's books and has recently had a high profile with adverts for fashion labels Guess and Agnes B, and Carling.
