Shoebury Old Boys chopped down hosts Epping Forest to win a place in the semi-finals of the much-coveted Essex Sunday Junior Cup.

Goals from Baddeley, Price and Mahoney - all in the second-half after the Southend Sunday League side had defended well against the wind in the opening 45 minutes - saw Shoebury to their success.

The Southend League also had a field day in the Essex Sunday Junior Trophy. For North Bank United had a hat-trick from M Glyde to thank for their 3-0 quarter-final success at Ford Basildon.

In the Southend League's Section A Charity Cup third round, T Morson's treble took CZ 81 to an 8-1 win over Oakwood Sports.

Rayleigh Olympiads saw off Canewdon 4-3 in round four with Rayleigh Town winning 4-1 at Rochford Town Sports.

Bell Sports were again the goal kings of the day. In round three of the Section B Charity they crushed Kursaal Flyers 17-0 with Baker scoring four. There were hat-tricks from Cox, Chandler and Benson.

In the Section D League Cup, Merenda's trio saw Ness Rangers to a 6-3 win at Kingston Athletic 2nd.

Kings Field Casuals saw off visitors Lodge Athletic by the odd goal in in nine with J Butler serving up four goals.

Lord made certain that Mill Sports were peers against Thorpe Athletic. He scored four in a 5-1 Division One victory.

Sheavill's hat-trick enabled Hawkwell Athletic to beat Ralee 5-3 in Division Two while, in the Third Division, Wilkinson was at his sharpest as Anne Boleyn chopped hosts Mill Sports 2nd 7-2.

Bradford and Stringer were the brace stars of Division Four with two goals apiece as Bellvue Wanders beat Rochford Town 2nd 5-3.

There were cheers for Rayleigh Avenue 2nd in Division Five. They won their first League game of the season with Baldwin and Guest both scoring twice as Gunners were shot down 4-1.

Gretch grabbed four goals as Anchor Athletic went one over the eight in Division Seven, beating Kings Field Casuals 9-2.
