A helicopter pilot has been committed to Chelmsford Crown Court accused of landing his helicopter on Clacton Pier.
Derek Hammond, 51, of Westover Gardens, Broadstairs, Kent, faces two charges of being the pilot in charge of a helicopter at Clacton Pier on July 18 last year.
Colchester magistrates committed him yesterday (Thursday) to Chelmsford Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing.
