Billericay were back to their sparkling best, displaying some fine approach play and clinical finishing.

The visitors were put under pressure from the outset and after some intricate passing in the D, George Kallarackal slotted home the opener.

From then on the goals came thick and fast, Joseph Pattara getting the second goal when his shot bounced bast the stranded Old Southendian goalkeeper.

Dan Hadley scored the third with a fearsome strike off a well-worked short corner.

The second half offered little respite to the Old Southendians with Simon Rattenbury powering into the D and firing in from a tight angle.

Matthew Hadley got Billericay's fifth goal when he was given too much time by the visiting defenders and placed a powerful shot past the keeper.

The final Billericay goal was somewhat farcical when Kallarackal beat a defender on the byline then crossed the ball in front of goal only for a Southendians defender to deflect it into his own goal.

Billericay were caught napping towards the end when Old Southendians netted a late consolation goal.
