However, second half goals from Anthony Swanborough and Barry Wilson put Tillingham through to face Sandon Royals in the fourth round.

Marconi beat a good Blackwater Royals side 2-0, Peter Curtis and Carl Wilkinson on target, while Margaretting knocked out Premier Division side Ravens 3-0, after leading 2-0 at the break.

Division Three outfit Springfield Rouge only had a Steve Smith goal to show for their efforts but did well to hold White Roding to a 1-1 scoreline at full-time.

However the Division One side hit three goals in extra-time to progress.

PREMIER DIVISION

Beacon Hill Rovers lost 3-0 to Hannakins Farm, while Southminster beat bottom of the table Outwood Common 3-1.

Tony McCutcheon's 30-yard strike gave the Saints the lead but this was quickly equalised by Richard Sunderland.

A Darren Harding penalty restored Southminster's lead and Damien Ruggles netted their third goal in the final minute.

Two second half Roy Carter goals gave Burnham Ramblers a 2-0 victory over Hullbridge .

DIVISION ONE

Braintree & Bocking United beat visitors Writtle 4-1.

Lee Quinn and Matt Ohene scored for United just before the interval and two more goals followed immediately after the restart, via Tim Farrelly and Kevin Whalley.

Mundon Vics beat visitors Latchingdon 5-1, Elderton (2), Michael White, Hughes and Tristan Brown on target for the Vics.

Leaders Marconi Reserves beat Writtle Manor 5-0, Dave Robinson (3), Steve Wright and Darren Wiffen the Marconi goalscorers.

DIVISION TWO

EEV pulled off a surprise result, by beating their hosts Old Brentwoods 4-1 thanks to a Dan Ryan hat-trick and a goal by 53-year-old substitute Mick Bloomfield. Danny Buttleman netted the Old Brentwoods goal.

A first half Steve Andrease goal was good enough to give Moulsham Lodge victory over visitors Brentwood , while leaders Sandon Royals beat visitors St Margarets 5-0. Rhys Atkinson (2), Richie Howard, Jason Potter and Danny Eley the scorers.
