Ice hockey player Ross Jones, from Great Baddow, Chelmsford, is flying high at the moment.
After playing all his ice hockey since he first began participating in the sport, at the Riverside Ice & Leisure in Chelmsford, Ross, 17, decided to try his luck at Romford at the start of the current season.
It was a good move for the teenager, who has been playing regularly for the Romford Raiders and The Buccaneers.
Ross, who works in the building trade, has since been selected for the Great Britain Under 18 ice hockey team who will be flying out to Slovenia tomorrow (Saturday), to take part in the World Championships.
He has also been invited to attend the British Olympic Association/British Airways Winter Sport Camp Programme in Saalfelden, Austria between April 14-22.
To round his season off Ross has just been awarded the 'most improved player' trophy, from the Romford Raiders - a year to remember.
