Treat it as a cup final.

That was the message from Ipswich Town manager George Burley as he prepared his side for Sunday's East Anglian derby against Norwich.

The Town chief, who who goes head to head with former Portman Road coach and team-mate Bryan Hamilton, scents victory for the first time in two years.

He said: "We are treating every game as a cup final from now on until the end of the season because we recognise how important the games are.

"There are just ten matches left and there is a huge prize waiting for someone at the end of the season.

"The derby against Norwich is a huge game for the supporters and everyone connected with the two clubs wants to win for the sake of local pride."

Town's last win against the Canaries was the 5-0 victory at Portman Road in February 1998 and Burley wants a repeat of his finest managerial hour.

He added: "That was without doubt most memorable and most satisfying derby match since I became manager of the Ipswich. I had many great tussles as a player but the 5-0 win gave me a great sense of achievement as manager because I understand what it means to the supporters.

"The atrmospheres have always been very special and this one will be no different. Norwich will be keyed up for the match because Bryan Hamilton will have got them going this week.

"He had six months at Ipswich as coach and made a lot of good friends but he will be looking to cause a bit of an upset in his first game in charge."

Town welcome back Marcus Stewart from injury but there is still no return for Mark Venus (calf).
