A comedy team based in Leigh could be headed for stardom following initial negotiations with a TV company.

Despite only having been together a few weeks, the Exquisite Light Bringers recently met with Chrysalis Television and further negotiations are expected soon.

The comedy sketch team of Jane Winiberg, Lee Jackson, Kevin Lehane, Carol Sant and Brian Williams, is now looking for new recruits.

Each have an extensive catalogue of personal artistic achievements in music, drama and writing and came together to make a pilot video of comedy sketches.

They will also be appearing at the Southend Arts Festival in August and at local venues afterwards.

Jane Winiberg said: "This is very much a team project and we are looking for a couple of like-minded actors or actresses to join us.

"We have a wealth of material and are always keen to hear new ideas. We need people with a flair for comedy."

Influences range from Spike Milligan and Monty Python to Dad's Army and Father Ted.

Kevin Lehane said: "What seemed to impress Chrysalis TV in particular was the fact that our project was totally in-house and that we were writing, performing and filming the shows ourselves."

They are now looking for help with the technical side of recording

Jane said: "While we are wildly keen about the videoing, none of us are particularly good

"We could benefit from the skills of any local film enthusiasts who are eager to have a project to get involved with."

Auditions for new recruits will be held in the last week of March and can be arranged by calling Jane on 07970 605222.
