Smoke and mirrors is the title of an photographic exhibition running at the Focal Point Gallery in Southend library.
The exhibition is unusual, because the photographs were created without the use of a camera.
Artist Root Cartwright says of the work: "All you need to make a photographic image is a light source and a sheet of photographic paper."
Each of the huge images is made from a series of tiles. The subject matter varies from the obscure to out of this world.
Root Cartwright will be giving a talk at the gallery on Wednesday evening from 6pm. Entrance is £2 or £1 for concessions. Phone Southend library to reserve your place on 01702 612621.
