William de Ferrers School pupil Michael Guess has been selected to play for the England under 16's rugby team.
Sixteen-year-old Michael from South Woodham Ferrers has worked his way to the top through playing for the school, for Essex, for the Eastern Regions, for the Southern Counties and now for England.
Playing as tight head prop, his first game for his country will be on Saturday April 15 at Newport where they will be playing against Wales.
Other up and coming games will take the young hopeful as far afield as Cornwall and even Italy.
