A fast food drive-through restaurant could be included in the development of the former Yardley factory site, Basildon.

The 400,000 sq ft site in Miles Gray Road was sold to property investment and management company, Minton Group and Mirravale Holdings in December.

It has already pre-let 158,000 sq ft to toy and fancy goods distributor PMS International plc and plans submitted to Basildon Council include a two-storey office block plus additional industrial and distribution units.

A new car showroom is also earmarked for the site and today it was revealed a drive-through restaurant is also included in early proposals.

Last year Basildon Council gave permission for the Yardley site to be split up and used for light industrial, office, distribution or manufacturing.

Ivor Spiro, chairman of the Minton Group, said the site had attracted lots of attention from interested users and the company was discussing with planners what would be best for the area.
