Ingrebourne produced a dazzling display of skilful netball to outplay old rivals, Star.

They finished the first quarter 6-2 ahead and extended this lead to 12-4 by half time.

In the third quarter, thanks to some amazing shooting by Lois Lomas and Sarah Brooks, Ingrebourne netted 11 goals and kept a clean sheet in defence so went into the final session 23-4 up.

The defensive trio of Rebecca Sears, Cheryl Mills and Rebecca Johnson were able to turn the game round on numerous occasions - by making vital interceptions when Star were on the attack.

Stacey Turner showed her usual energy and skill to control the centre court and WA Emma Saunders, the youngest player on court, was able to make excellent use of available space.

The two shooters were amazing in their accuracy, and the Ingrebourne goals were scored by Lomas (16) and Brooks (12).

It was impossible to choose a player of the match as everyone performed to potential. It was Ingrebourne back to their best!

Ingrebourne: Lois Lomas, Sarah Brooks, Emma Saunders, Stacey Turner, Rebecca Sears, Cheryl Mills and Rebecca Johnson.

(Essex Metropolitan Junior League)

Ingrebourne put in a fine team performance despite losing to skilful opposition.

The attack worked well together by feeding accurate balls in to GS Cally Jones.

GK Charley Meah and WD Samantha Johnson had their best ever games, making superb interceptions and forcing errors by their tight marking.

Centre Emma Saunders had a hard time, against an experienced opponent but gave 100 per cent as usual - to find space and control the court.

WA Leah Bowers also had a good game, as did GD, Danielle Laybourn who was up against a much taller girl.

Ingrebourne went two goals ahead before St. Augustines fought back to lead 4-3 at half time.

At the start of the second half, St. Augustines moved further into the lead, going 7-3 ahead before Ingrebourne staged a brief comeback - although St. Augustines moved further away again towards the end.

The goals were scored by Cally Jones (4) and Emma English (3), who was named player of the match by the St. Augustines coach.

Ingrebourne: Cally Jones, Emma English, Leah Bowers, Emma Saunders, Samantha Johnson, Danielle Laybourn, and Charlye Meah.
