A man who was hurt outside a Harwich pub has died.
The 53-year-old was assaulted at 7.30pm on Monday outside the British Flag pub in Harwich.
Police said a man pushed the victim who then hit his head on the pavement, suffering a fractured skull. He was taken to Colchester General Hospital's intensive care unit but he died today.
A 58-year-old man was arrested, questioned and has since been released.
A post-mortem examination was expected to be held yesterday or today. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in which the man was injured.
