Emma King scored a double success as members of Rochford and District Swimming Club rewrote the record books at the Harlow Penguins Sprint Meet.

The team smashed four records on the day, with Emma breaking two on her own in winning both the under-12s 50m butterfly and freestyle.

Laura Myers was also on top form as she beat the mark for the under-13s 50 metres breaststroke and also claimed gold medals in the butterfly and freestyle. She only missed out on the clean sweep by two hundredths of a second when finishing second in the backstroke.

The final record went to young Jessie Unwin, who stormed to victory in the under-11s 50m butterfly.

The rest of the team also did well and there were golds for Megan Williams in the under-11s backstroke and freestyle, plus a first-ever Open medal for Jerry Hart in the under-12s 50m backstroke.

Michael Myers, Michael Bellini, Daniel Smith, Katie Taylor and Hermione Isaac all recorded personal bests and there were also good swims for Sarah Anderson, who made four finals, younger sister Charlotte and Felicity Isaac (under-13s backstroke).

RADS enjoyed more success at the Basildon and District Spring Meet when Sophie Drake picked up three firsts.

She won the 100 metres breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle in the girls 15/16 years age group and added a third place in the backstroke.

Ben King took first in the boys 15/16 years 100 metres butterfly and Lewis White was fourth in the 100 metres backstroke and breastroke.

Sophie, Sarah, Ben and Lewis came third in the 15/16 years age group freestyle and fifth in the medley relays.

Naomi Thomas and Maria White may have narrowly missed out on trophies but they went home with personal best times.
