Versatile Lucy Schofield is looking forward to competing in the Essex Swimming Championships at Barkingside this weekend.
She will be competing in the 200m medley, 100m freestyle and the 200m backstroke.
But 12-year-old Lucy, a pupil of Clacton High School, is just as happy out of the water as she has also represented Essex at cross country.
She has combined her love of running and swimming to take part in biathalons.
Lucy has already won the Eastern biathalon at Stoke Mandeville and is due to enter the Lichfield biathalon in May.
She is a member of both the Clacton Swimming Club and the Colchester and Tendring Athletics Club.
Lucy said: "I have been taking part in these sports for five years. It is a lot of training but I like doing it."
And competing in the Essex Road Relay recently she clocked up the fourth fastest time.
