Internet shopping and 24-hour opening is coming to High Woods in Colchester.
From Monday Tesco's High Woods store will be joining the Hythe branch by opening its doors to shoppers at 8am Monday until 10pm Saturdays. Sunday opening hours will be 10am to 4pm.
The move has created 12 extra jobs including cashiers and security and another 21 jobs will be created by the home delivery service via the Internet.
Tesco is taking delivery of two vans today (Friday), which will deliver goods to customers who can order on-line from Monday.
Deliveries will run until 10pm.
"Someone working in London will be able to shop during their lunch hour on the Internet and then have their shopping delivered after they get home in the evening at 8pm or 8.30pm," said High Woods store general manager Richard Williams.
The Internet delivery service at www.tescodirect.com costs £5 and covers most of the CO postcodes.
