Felines found friends at a special cat homing event put on by a Southend charity.
The show was staged by the Southend Cat Protection League and aimed to find a home in a day for some of the many cats it is looking after.
Pussies were laid out in cages, as if at a show, complete with a card attached to the outside, detailing their history, likes and dislikes.
Sue Ingram, joint co-ordinator of the Southend branch, hoped to find homes for all cats on display at the Adult Community College in Roche Way, Rochford.
She said: "They have all been cleaned and pampered and are in the pink. If someone took a particular fancy to one, we had our people waiting to go home with them and make sure they were going to look after the cat.
"If all the checks were okay, the person was able to come back and pick up the cat. It is the first time we have done it and if it proves successful we will do more."
Around 15 pens were on display at the show, containing four kittens, four pairs of cats, and a number of adults.
