Drug dealers have been sent a warning after police raided three homes.

Cannabis, speed and ecstasy were found in the raids. Sgt Andy Hooke said that on Friday night officers entered three homes in upper Dovercourt and Harwich.

Cannabis was found in one and two men were later cautioned for possession.

In another home, a quantity of ecstasy tablets and amphetamine sulphate, or speed, was recovered.

One man was given a caution and a woman was released on police bail.

In the third home, cannabis was located. Two people were later released on bail while police continue their investigations.

After the raids, suspected dealers rang Harwich Police Station asking if the police had completed their raids.

Sgt Hooke warned dealers and drug users the police were aware of the situation.

He said: "We have received some information that there are a lot of drugs in the town. Any information that people have, please contact the police.

"We sent a message to the dealers in the town. The dealers knew about it in hours."
