A Laindon park is having a spring clean.
Basildon District Council has sprung into action after a range of household items and garden waste were dumped in the car park of Victoria Park, Laindon.
Items included a sofa, wardrobe, washing machine and tree cuttings.
With April being the month of the National Spring Clean Campaign by the Tidy Britain Group, the council's parks department will begin spending one day a week clearing rubbish from the site.
Information will also be sent to homes surrounding the park, which backs on to a housing estate, urging people not to dump their rubbish there.
As part of the campaign, signs will also be put up around the park warning people about the legal implications if they are caught dumping rubbish.
