After Brentwood's recent success at the Essex championships, it was time for those swimmers who had not achieved their Essex qualifying times to add to the club's performances and prove the depth now developing in Brentwood Swimming Club.
The Basildon Open gala gave Brentwood's 9-year-old swimmers their first taste of competition against other clubs.
The relay team of Ryan Cogdale, Roberto Pavoni, Jemma Smith and Francesca Wood built up a massive lead in the medley to run out convincing winners.
They also performed well in the freestyle relay but had to settle for second place in a tight finish.
The other age groups all performed to their best and gained top six places in both the freestyle and medley relays.
The 15+16 years team of Lisa Kerr, Dominique Miranda and Mark Cook joined with Christophe Moucarry in the freestyle relay and Mitchell Grant in the medley relay to record victories in both events.
In the individual events the 10-year-old swimmers took home a haul of trophies. Billy Bolton won both the backstroke and freestyle and was fifth in the breast.
Saleece Glover was second in the butterfly, third in the freestyle and fourth in the back, and Sean Parker was third in the butterfly and freestyle.
Further medal winners were Katie Gorman who was second in the fly and Harriet Williams finished fifth in the Breast for the 11 years age group.
In the 12 years age group Daniel Phillips was third in the back and fourth in the fly, with Andrew Cowing second in the fly and third in the freestyle.
In the 13+14 age group Paul Green was second in the breast and Matthew Tarbard fifth in the free.
